Beschorneria yuccoides ‘Flamingo Glow’

Of all the Beschorneria I grow, ‘Flamingo Glow’ is the standout for me. While these plants have beautiful floral displays the evergreen variegated foliage of this variety is guaranteed to give year round interest. As with the standard yucciodes I love to grow these in pots to fully appreciate the scale and presence of the plant with its pendulous leaves elegantly drooping over the edge. This particular variety is PBR protected

Beschorneria yuccoides ‘Flamingo Glow’

Beschorneria yuccoides ‘Flamingo Glow’ is a dramatic and architectural perennial valued for its bold foliage and exceptionally colourful flower spikes. The plant forms large rosettes of smooth, arching blue-green leaves with a yellow centre that create a strong structural presence in the garden throughout the year. In late spring to early summer, tall flowering stems rise above the foliage, producing tubular green flowers surrounded by striking pink to coral-coloured bracts that give the plant its distinctive “Flamingo Glow” appearance. Reaching heights of around 120–150 cm with a spread of approximately 90–120 cm, this variety makes an impressive focal point in borders, gravel gardens, and contemporary planting schemes. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil, performing best in sheltered locations where its architectural form can be fully appreciated. Drought tolerant once established and relatively low maintenance, it adds bold texture and colour to planting designs. With its elegant foliage and vibrant flowering display, Beschorneria yuccoides ‘Flamingo Glow’ is a superb choice for gardeners looking to introduce strong structure and a touch of exotic character to their garden spaces.
