Crinum x powellii album

Crinum x powellii ‘Album’ is a magnificent perennial known for its large, pure white, trumpet-shaped flowers and lush, strap-like green foliage. Flowering in late summer, the blooms are highly fragrant and can reach up to 15 cm across, making them an elegant and showy addition to any garden. Growing to a height of 90-120 cm with a spread of 60-90 cm, this variety is perfect for planting in borders, alongside ponds, or in large containers where its beauty can be fully appreciated. Crinum x powellii ‘Album’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist but well-drained, fertile soil. It is a hardy plant that can tolerate a range of conditions but performs best in sunny, sheltered locations. While stunning, care must be taken as all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested, making it unsuitable for gardens with pets or small children. Crinum x powellii ‘Album’  is not fully hardy, however a nice layer of mulch is my recommendation and should keep the bulb protected, as caution must be taken if you would prefer to lift during winter and replant in the spring. With its dramatic blooms and graceful foliage, Crinum x powellii ‘Album’ is a superb choice for gardeners looking to introduce a touch of elegance and fragrance to their outdoor spaces.
